Evan Reflects On Paying It Forward During Holidays!

image001image002We love the holidays at Piero’s, but I must admit that my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving Day. This Thanksgiving marked 24 years giving back to our community through our annual Turkey Gobble event.

As always, it was an honor to serve Thanksgiving dinner to underprivileged children and families from local non-profit organizations, including After-School All-Stars Las Vegas, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. Each year our loyal customers make contributions and we receive food donations. Our wonderful staff donates their time to feed underprivileged children and families.

Piero’s chefs and employees prepared approximately 400 pounds of turkey, 1,100 pounds of potatoes, 2,000 rolls, 300 pies and more for these 1,200 special guests, many who would otherwise not receive a warm Thanksgiving meal.

As a kid, I remember my dad would bring us to Piero’s on Thanksgiving Day and we would enjoy a delicious breakfast at the restaurant as we prepared for the Turkey Gobble event. Now my kids are doing that as they learn the importance of giving back.

To me, that’s what Thanksgiving Day is all about.
