Over 150 Youth to Receive New Bikes at PK Bike Day in Las Vegas
Piero's Hosts 11th Annual PK Bike Day in Las Vegas
It’s almost time for PK Bike Day in Las Vegas– one of our favorite events at Piero's Italian Cuisine that puts smiles on over a hundred kids’ faces in Las Vegas.
On March 22, we’re filling our parking lot with bikes at Piero’s to give to underprivileged and at-risk kids from across the valley through After-School All-Stars Las Vegas (ASAS).
This all started in 2004, and since then, the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation has given out 2,200 bikes and helmets to deserving Las Vegas youth.
Every year up to 150 kids from Title I schools are bussed in to Piero’s to pick out their very own – and many times very first – bike. The Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation helps local youth find the best bike, pick out a helmet and teach them how to properly use it.
“Youth voice and choice is so important and the PK Foundation understands that,” said Ranna Daud, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) Executive Director. “So many kids say, ‘This is the best day of my life!’”
“Evan Glusman does a great job, improvising and adding to [the event every year]. He added a tent where board members standby to engage with kids at the event. Last year, they even added a petting zoo with exotic and fun animals. Every year, they go above and beyond,” said Daud.
We hope to make this year even bigger and better!
